We want to make it easier for you to invite your friends into your discussions and posts. Our ultimate goal is to allow you to invite friends in from across the web, but as a first step, we're launching with Twitter. Advertisement Any user who has their Twitter account connected to Kinja will be able to approve users to their highlights sections with just a few simple steps. (Don't have your Twitter account connected? You can now connect your Twitter, Facebook or Google account to Kinja in your Account Settings.)Now, let's get into how it works. Advertisement When you're writing a post. You'll see the invite field above the headline field once you set your post to public. You'll also see the field when you write a reply. Sponsored Once you've published your post. You'll see the Invite option in the small drop down that lives to the upper-right hand corner of your post, whether it's a reply or a starter post. Okay, I see the field, what should I write? Advertisement Advertisement An invite should include an @reply to the Twitter user that you'd like to invite and a short message. We'll add on the link before sending out the invite from your Twitter account.Examples: @kinja this new feature is great! Advertisement This new feature is great @kinja @gawkerWhat about the person who receives the invite?Whoever you mention in the tweet will obviously receive a notification on Twitter, and they'll also receive a notification within Kinja. If the user doesn't have their Twitter account connected to the Kinja account, we'll ask them to connect it so that we can approve their contributions to your post. Advertisement Advertisement Once they've registered on Kinja with their Twitter account, we'll verify that they're the user mentioned in your invite, and we'll add their contributions to your group chat.
