You've probably noticed a change in the structure of Gizmodo—not just the design of the homepage, although that's been updated, but in the way our comment threads now work. To be honest, it's pretty confusing at first—and it's still undergoing substantial tweaks—but bear with us! It's all for the greater good. For now, let us know what you think of the change, whether good or bad, and read ahead for some quick tips on how our new comments and group chats work. Kinja says thanks.
Group chats and site design updates are launching on Gizmodo today and we hope to have all Kinja sites updated by the end of the week.
We've still got a lot more work to do — we'll be making discussions more personalized and more realtime. But, this is a first step in the right direction. Chats are focused on the author's discussions or can be shifted to focus on your own discussions. Also, with the design updates comes some significant site performance improvements - pages load much faster with far less jumpiness.
So, let us know what you like or what you don't like!
