The tech team is introducing some changes in the editor to simplify insets. By simplifying this workflow, we can lay a better development foundation to build upon as well as make the experience of using insets more straightforward.
Today, we began rolling out a new version of the mobile and tablet editor (the form you use to write and submit posts and replies). Right now it's available on one of our community sites, OppositeLock, and will be rolling out Kinja-wide in the next one to two weeks.
Beginning this week, we will be rolling out our new editor product on several test sites. This first release will be mobile only, with desktop releases to be introduced in the next few weeks. We plan to fully replace the current Kinja editor by the end of September.
Now, when you paste an an image URL to insert into a post, you get a little preview. This is awesome.
